Rhode Island Sea Grant works with coastal communities, fishermen, seafood businesses, educators, students, and decision-makers to address the opportunities and challenges facing Rhode Island’s shoreline. From strengthening working waterfronts and local seafood systems to supporting coastal planning for flooding and erosion, our work is grounded in partnership and practical solutions.
Through research, outreach, and education, Rhode Island Sea Grant helps protect clean water, sustain public access to the coast, prepare a skilled coastal workforce, and ensure that science informs decisions about marine and coastal resources.
