About the Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship

The Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship is a transformative one-year program designed to immerse early career professionals in the intricacies of marine and coastal policy. Participants are placed in executive or legislative offices in Washington, D.C., where they contribute to policy-making processes that impact coastal, marine, and Great Lakes ecosystems. This fellowship not only enhances professional growth but also fosters a deeper understanding of national policy decisions affecting vital natural resources.

*The fellowship is anticipated to begin between February 1 and June 1, 2027.

Eligibility Requirements

Academic Enrollment

Applicants must be enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited U.S. institution between Fall 2025 and June 3, 2026.

Citizenship Criteria

Eligible candidates must be U.S. Citizens, U.S. Lawful Permanent Residents, or dual nationals with U.S. citizenship.

Interest in Marine Policy

Applicants should demonstrate a strong interest in ocean, coastal, and Great Lakes resources and related policy issues.
