Melissa Welch of Middletown gives LAR capstone students a tour of the area.

Every year, URI LAR capstone students are presented with a community issue to address as the final requirement for their degree. Last year’s award-winning student project reimagined Jamestown’s vulnerable coastline. This year, students are focusing on Middletown’s Aquidneck Avenue area and issues of enhancing accessibility, pedestrian safety, and public water views. Contact Monica Allard Cox with questions.

This event is sponsored by the town of Middletown and Rhode Island Sea Grant.
