Bay Informed | Marine Plants
March 22, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Every third breath you take is from phytoplankton (‘fīdōˈplaNGktən/) – tiny aquatic plants. Just like plants on land, they produce oxygen and make up the base of the food chain. They even play an important role in the Earth’s climate.
Stephanie Anderson and Olivia Ahern from the University of Rhode Island’s Graduate School of Oceanography will be sharing what these amazing plants tell us about the natural world and why they’re so important.
All ages welcome!
Light refreshments will be served.
