Last month the Coastal Resources Management Council, along with the University of Rhode Island Department of Geosciences and Eastern Connecticut State University, offered a free training session in the Modified Emery Method (a.k.a two sticks and a string) – a fast and inexpensive method to track changes to the shoreline – to show how beach profiling works and how it is integral to the development of the Shoreline Change Special Area Management Plan (Beach SAMP).
