    • March 20, 2006: The Rhode Island Sea Grant College Program at the University of Rhode Island (URI) will be spending $6.1 million over the next two years on a variety of research and outreach projects in the state, thanks to a $4.06 million grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and matching contributions. More

    • Rhode Island Sea Grant has produced a report from its 2004 Science Symposium on nutrients in Narragansett Bay. The report demonstrates the multiple perspectives that have emerged on whether the focus is basic research, applied research needs, or the engineering of treatment or management solutions. There appear to be four distinct regions of the bay: the Providence River estuary, the Upper Bay, the Middle Bay, and the Lower Bay, for which varying data are available.
