The vision of the MRDP
includes properly
functioning bay and lagoon ecosystems; abundant and sustained fishing
and fisheries resources; successful coastal places; and marine-based
economic development. The plan outlines strategies for improving the
health and functionality of the state’s marine ecosystem, and
for providing appropriate marine-based economic development.

This Scorecard overview
presents the process
and draft findings of the inaugural economic monitoring report of the
Rhode Island Bays, Rivers and Watersheds Coordination Team, prepared by
the Rhode Island Economic Monitoring Collaborative. The Coordination
Team is currently reviewing a draft report, which describes the
Scorecard in greater detail. The report will be finalized and available
for release in April 2007.
