Section taken from EIS for recent $63m dredging of Providence River. "The Red Book" - in its entirety The vision of the MRDP includes properly functioning bay and lagoon ecosystems; abundant and sustained fishing and fisheries resources; successful coastal places; and marine-based economic development. The plan outlines strategies for improving the health and functionality of the state’s marine ecosystem, and for providing appropriate marine-based economic development. This Scorecard overview presents the process and draft findings of the inaugural economic monitoring report of the Rhode Island Bays, Rivers and Watersheds Coordination Team, prepared by the Rhode Island Economic Monitoring Collaborative. The Coordination Team is currently reviewing a draft report, which describes the Scorecard in greater detail. The report will be finalized and available for release in April 2007. RI Statewide Planning's 20 year plan for land use in Rhode Island. Presentation by Prof. Charles Colgan, Chief Economist, National Ocean Economics Program RI Senate Policy Office Report, 2002. "The goal of the plan is to give context and direction to future state efforts in marine related economic development. The plan describes each sector of the marine economy and offers recommendations to stimulate growth in the respective sectors. This plan will contribute to a better understanding of the marine economy, however, it is not sufficient to guarantee progress in economic planning and development." Old Plans for Allens Avenue (Background) An outdated plan that presents a different scenario for Allens Avenue (industrial development with no residential). From ex-Mayor Cianci's 2000 "New Cities Plan." This plan has been replaced by the Providence Tomorrow plan above, but outlines the now-outdated Sasaki vision for the Allens Ave. corridor.
