The Sustainable Fisheries Extension Program conducts applied research on fisheries issues and engages stakeholders in management of the fisheries, creates opportunities and options for decision-makers, brings forward innovative ideas and technologies, respects the balance and differences among decision-makers, and creates a neutral platform for the discussion of ideas.

The Sea Grant Sustainable Fisheries Extension program is based in the URI College of Environment and Life Sciences, in the department of Fisheries, Animal and Veterinary Sciences (FAVS).
