WELCOME
This is the portal to a national network of Sea Grant fisheries specialists. This unique network includes people from 30 programs in coastal and Great Lakes states and Puerto Rico dedicated to enhancing the sustainable use and conservation of ocean, coastal, and Great Lakes resources to benefit the economy and the environment.
Sea Grant Fisheries personnel offer information, education, and facilitation to commercial and recreational fishermen, fisheries managers, seafood processors, scientists, and consumers around the country and beyond. Many Fisheries Extension staff perform their own research as well.
While each state Sea Grant program operates in its own context and addresses the needs of its local and regional constituents, Extension staff also share expertise on issues of local, national, and international concern, such as bycatch, seafood safety and marketing, and fisheries management. This website facilitates the exchange of information, educational methods and technical tools cross state lines and between Sea Grant Extension specialists.
To contact Fisheries Extension personnel, please see the list provided on the personnel/projects page.
To view the final report and presentations presented at the Fisheries Extension Enhancement Review held in Silver Springs, MD April 21-24, 2008 please see meeting page.
