Welcome to Northeast Sea Grant Coastal Community Development
Coastal access, tourism, smart growth, and hazard resilience increasingly challenge coastal communities and are issues that cross community and state borders. Many Sea Grant Extension Programs are helping communities address these issues through the Coastal Community Development (CCD) program, established by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in 2001. In the Northeast, the Maine, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island Sea Grant programs are participating in the CCD effort.
