ABOUT The Aquidneck Island Special Area Management Plan
The development of the Aquidneck Island Special Area Management Plan (SAMP) is a public process to enhance economic, environmental, and social policy along the western side of Aquidneck Island. Led by the R.I. Coastal Resources Management Council (CRMC), the Aquidneck Island SAMP involves Portsmouth, Middletown, and Newport, the Aquidneck Island Planning Commission, Naval Station Newport, and Rhode Island Sea Grant/URI Coastal Resources Center.
